Fweeb, a fellow member of the World Artist Network helped me out with the Photobucket problem. He told me that I can host images from my personal website. I totally didn’t realize or think about that! Screw Photobucket and their censorship, I’ll use my own website thank you.

Obviously if you look below you can see why. One of my figure drawings was deleted for “Violating their terms of use.” I’d understand if it were a nude porn photograph, but its not. Its ART!!! I hate censorship, and especially censorship of art. I’ll be searching for a new image hosting site asap. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking Flickr, but I don’t know if they have the same problem with ART or not.

As many have heard by now Diamond Distributors, the top comic book distributor, has increased its benchmarks. I was a bit fuzzy at first on what this meant, other than what everyone was saying: “It just got a bit harder for the indie side of the industry.”

After reading the New York Times article at the link below, I now understand what it means and how this will affect the industry. Lets hope that this “economic crisis” gets cleaned up fast.

Selling Grows Rougher for Small Comics Publishers

I am totally and utterly disappointed with how the first few pages of Fastback came out so I am redoing them. I didn’t stick to the vision I had for it. In the meantime here’s this:

I went to a figure drawing session today at a friend’s house. The model was awesome. I hadn’t done any regular figure drawing since May of last year so I was a bit rusty. It took a while to get back into. I was kind of wishing the 2 hour session was more like 3 hours. Here’s some of the good and some of the bad. 10 second warmups, 30 second warm ups and a couple 10 and 20 minute poses. Like I said… rusty…

I’ve been making “advertisements” to put up on my website http://www.degainedesigns.com to promote the projects I’m working on. Here are some of them I have completed so far:

Its a new year and with that comes a new year of Comic Cons.

First up is the NY Comic Con. I had a great time last year chillin’ at the Heavy Proton booth in Small Press with Bill Rees and Jeff Clemens.

This year I’ll be sharing a Small Press booth with Suz LeGrand’s Silenlily Studios and few other friends including Dan Olwell. We’re listed on the con’s site under Silentlily Studios, booth #2460.

I’ll have original pages for sale (maybe, just maybe, some Riot Girls pages). I haven’t posted any of the Riot Girls pages yet, but I’ll see if I can to boost some hype for it, though it won’t be in print for this con (Maybe WW Phily).

I also have two copies of my 40 page artbook left, and may be putting together sketchbooks for the con. I’ll have a new artbook ready by WW Phily.

I’ll be doing sketches too.

That’s all I can think of for now.
