Zane DeGaine is a freelance illustrator and sequential artist. He grew up in southern California, in the sweltering Palm Springs desert heat. His love for hard rock and hotrods is evident in his work.

Zane is a graduate of the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. He temporarily resides in New Jersey with his girlfriend, Olivia. Olivia is a traditional 2D animator. Olivia’s first professional animation work was recently shown at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival in France.

In his free time he works on his own projects, most notably his comic book series “Fastback” about the story of three twenty-something chicks submersed in the fast-paced, thrill seeking kustom kulture lifestyle. Three separate tragedies, different, yet all too similar bring them together in an action packed joyride spiraling down to an explosive conclusion none of them could expect. With car chases reminiscent and homage of movies such as “Bullitt” and “Gone in 60 Seconds,” this story of hot babes and cool cars is sure to keep you at the edge of your seat.
